Review in Brief: I can see why this is the longest running bestseller on the NY Times Bestseller list. I had to keep reminding myself this was narrative nonfiction because the characters were more vivid than anything I could imagine and Savannah itself was the most important character of all. Loved this book! Berendt's style is wonderful. It's hard to believe some of the characters aren't fictional. He brings the people of Savannah to life.

I feel like this one was overly hyped...I was supposed to fall in love with Savannah after reading this. It was an interesting true-crime story, but maybe I'm just not a Savannah kind of girl.
