Wow, this was brilliant. I loved how it was set 'in the future' which starts in 1999 and actually does go up to 2026, so there's still a bit of future left over. But I loved the 50s and 60s view of the turn of the century, so that was fun.
But, more than that, the rise and fall of the Martian empire was just epic. Absolutely fascinating and told in bits and pieces. And part of me is just wondering how I would feel if I read the short stories in a magazine without reading it as a part of the book ...more
