What Members Thought

I think in order to enjoy this book (which had a very fairy-tale vibe to it) I needed to be in a specific mood, and I just wasn't in the mood for this one right now. Towards the end of the novel, when the story picked up, I got into it, but before that all I could think was "this is the longest 180-page book I've ever read." This was something I needed to read for book club, so I think the situation was kind of like this "Safer at Home" directive. I LOVE spending a Saturday in my PJ's reading...

At the end of this book on cd, Gaiman, who read the book, says as he gets to the acknowledgments, that the listener can stop listening because this is not really a part of the book. It was my favorite part. I immediately ejected that cd. This book was NOT for me. I see a lot of people liked it. I'm glad it is over. To each his own!

I can't think of a more beautiful book cover. I couldn't pass it up seeing the cover. I had a hard time getting into the story, but the writing was great.
