I listened to this book on audio, and I think I'm glad I did. The beginning was a little slow for me, although the end had the same tone - intentionally, I'm sure - and I now feel like the beginning was perfect.
Loto's and Matilde's lives are the kind that you like to read about: two young adults in love at first sight, ready to take on life even if it means bohemian living. There are always struggles, but these two work them out. I found myself envious of their relationship, as screwed up as it ...more

Hmm....this book is interesting. This was our first book club pick of the new year, 2016, and it made for a meaty book club discussion. It was a slog to get through the first half, but picked up the pace in the second half. It is a book in which nothing is quite what it seems, or maybe that there is two sides to every story, and I like that.
