Thomas Cromwell goes from a poor blacksmith's son to one of the most powerful men in England under Henry VIII. The story of his rise is complete with a huge cast of characters (there are two family trees and a multi-page list of characters), spot-on details and a unique writing structure. I admit that this bogged down for me a little bit in the middle, but overall I highly enjoyed. I would recommend this to many historical fiction readers, especially someone looking for something literary or not ...more
