What Members Thought

If this book had maintained its quality from the beginning to the end, I would have ranked it higher... the first 1/3 had me really interested and entertained while I was learning about and understanding the 'brave new world' of Mr. Huxley's imagined future... But once I had the way of things figured out, it became less fun... The characters were mostly annoying and not always consistent in their actions... Of course, I might not be consistent either if I had to live in that world!

On the one hand, impressive that it was written in 1932. On the other, it was strangely organized and a lot of the time, I felt I didn't know what was going on. I would recommend reading it vs. listening to it, as I did.

I liked this book much better the first time I read it. It's lost some of it's luster. I do appreciate the Shakespeare references (always) and some of the grander themes of the book. ...more
