Wow. I love this book. So sweet, and a little bit heartbreaking. I really got the feeling while reading it that the author spent her time choosing her words and it made me want to savor the book even more and really take my time reading it. So many great lines such as "Humans waste words. They toss them like banana peels and leave them to rot" and "She makes a happy, lilting sound, an elephant laugh. It's like the song of a bird with a voice like dancing water".

This is younger middle grade, but still amazing. I loved the characters and the way that Ivan found a way to get them to a better home.
This is younger middle grade, but still amazing. I loved the characters and the way that Ivan found a way to get them to a better home.
Such a sweet and heart-wrenching story of a gorilla who has spent most of his life as a sideshow act and the little elephant that changes everything.
My son received this as a town wide read and I was enthralled. What a sweet and cute story with some really sad parts. Loved it!
