What Members Thought
4 stars because I did not particularly enjoy reading this. Tough hang. Tough read. Can’t fathom watching the show. I listened to the audio and found myself making cringing faces on my walks. Cut a little too deep, if you know what I mean. Why do men want to control women’s bodies? How is procreation linked to a woman’s efficiency? My favorite part of this whole book was the last chapter analyzing Gileadean society- normalizing the absurd is basically how we seem to be functioning these days.
