This was an OK book, neither fantastic nor awful, that I chose for the 2021 PopSugar Reading Challenge but didn't finish until 2022. It follows the history of 2 men, a rather plain British fellow, Archie Jones, and Samad Iqbals, a Bengali man who came to England as a young man. The 2 men began a friendship as teenagers fighting in World War II and continues through their adulthood despite thier differences. I went to see Zadie Smith speak around the time The Fraud was published, and my friends said their favorite book of hers was her first, White Teeth. I stopped and started and finally finished it awhile back, but forgot to write a review. Great characters, great commentary, and Zadie Smith's wit make for a great read. If I had written this right when I finished, I've have more to say!
