It has been more than 10 years since I finished the Tawny Man trilogy and with only 5 weeks to read this and Fool's Quest before I attend a Q&A session with Robin Hobb about Assassin's Fate, I had to give up on my hopes of rereading the previous Fitz books first and instead skimmed all the previous book plots online. So admittedly my preparation possibly didn't support this book as well as it could have done, but still I was a bit disappointed and could only give this 3.5 stars at best. Not enou ...more
