"to tell you the truth"..................I'm not sure what to make of this book! It's about 200 pages, so it should have gone fast, right? Wrong. I just couldn't read it! I had trouble getting into it, and I kept thinking I was missing something here. I'm a HUGE fan of the classics, which is why I wanted to re-read this one; I had read it in HS, but didn't remember a THING about it. No, I have never read this before. It was not at all what I expected, but I was impressed by the way the thoughts of the main character are expressed - especially considering that it was written in 1945. Very sad, though, and hard to read because of that.

Gave me a absolute headache. Maybe I would have appreciated this book more as a teen, but as a mom of teens, I just wanted to smack him. Sorry to offend anyone who enjoyed it.
