As usual, Roald Dahl has successfully entertained me through his wonderful imagination. This sweet story about a Big Friendly Giant and a little girl named Sophie who tried to stop nine bad crazy giants to eat children has everything delightful for children (and adults who love children books lol). I can't wait to see the movie soon!

Fantastic narration!!

I'm not sure how all this time has passed without me reading the BFG, but I finally opened it during spring break and devoured it. I LOVED the BFG. I loved the way he spoke, the way he explained things, the way he interacted with Sophie. Just absolute fun from start to finish. I found myself laughing out loud several times, and had to read a few passages aloud to my husband because they were so delightful. ("Whizpopper" has become a permanent word in our family vocabulary.) Just fun, fun, fun!

The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) kidnaps Sophie, an orphan, and takes her with him to giant land. Sophie and the BFG join forces (with the help of the Queen) to rid the world of the not-so-friendly giants who consider "human beans" a delicacy.

I loved Roald Dahl as a kid, but somehow missed this one. It was only ok, but maybe that was because I don't have a childhood attachment to it.
