As an adventure story, there are few that can touch this classic. I remember reading through this book around 10 years old and how much I loved reading about all of the various life forms beneath the sea. I also credit this book for my fascination with all things aquatic.

There's a lot of criticism on all of the technical jargon included in this book and I don't really understand that. If this doesn't interest the reader it's simple to just skim over the information and or skip it altogether. It'

3.5 stars!

A fantastic adventure story way ahead its time. Jules Verne was a very good writer, and this story, even though a bit flat here and there, can capture the essence of thrilling, wonderful mysteries under the sea, with the mysterious Captain Nemo and his obsession of revenge :)

I would certainly recommend this book to all kids who want to venture more into the classics.

An adventure story with similar themes as Moby Dick. This novel resonates today in its environmental commentary. Watch out, younger readers, for the many pages of biological classification and description. They get tiresome after a while (even for adults).

I REALLY enjoyed the beginning. The middle and the end got very wordy, but the basic story was still interesting. I am glad I read the book.
