This book reminds me so much of The Westing Game so I can't resist to give it 5 stars :D The characters are great (although a bit one dimensional but that's still fine), the puzzles are terrific, but one thing I love the most is the reference to some cool children books. A story, setting in an amazing library, children trying to solve puzzles to find the way out, and between the excitement, there are books and books and books. What's not to love? :)

A great book for both YA readers and non-readers. Loved the library, Mr Lemoncello and the puzzles. Wish they'd steered clear (or even -gasp- flipped) the stereotypes. The girls are a cheerleader who pretends she's dumb when she's really smart and another who is somewhat anti-social and reads constantly (Breakfast Club, anyone?) and the side-kick/best friend of the lead character (kudos to the author for having a female best friend). This was a really fun middle reader! Very reminiscent of Willy Wonka, but dealing with literature and libraries instead of candy and chocolate factories :) I think a bit of it was too elevated for middle readers (I can't think of any 5th/6th graders who actually know 3 works of literature by 10 current, popular authors, let alone 10 classic authors..) but it was a fun story with a strong group of young characters, strong messages about teamwork and honesty and putting others before yourself, and
