Yup, this is on my DNF (did not finish) shelf. I couldn't put myself through the torture. I gave it a chance -- nine whole chapters! Enough to be introduced to the main players, see the playroom, and survive the first sex scene.

I read enough.

There isn't much I can add onto what's already been said so eloquently by others (here & here). I didn't find this book sexy at all, and the Twilight parallels were annoying. I felt as if I was getting beat over the head with the grey references: Christian

Well let's see.... I liked it. No, it was not the best written book I have ever read but it is definitely not the worst either. I can get through a badly written book as long as the story draws me in. Which it did in this case. It was Christian's character that I enjoyed reading about. The author at one point comments about lingerie from Agent Provocateur in Washington. If my memory serves me correctly this is a British brand not located in the USA (could be wrong but I'm gett ...more

Oh yes, I went there. Not as bad as I thought it would be... in fact, I am wanting to find out what happens to the characters in the next book. I know this was written as Twilight fanfiction originally, so I am hyperaware of all the parallels in the novel.

Eh. This book was repetitive. The words/pharases the author used (sated, fifty shades of ..., biting my lip) and the theme tiring. I read this to see what the hype was all about and I was disappointed.

It certainly isn't great literature, (maybe not even "literature"), but was better than I expected from some of the reviews on good reads. ...more
