The author has a weird trick of introducing a problem, not doing much with it for the majority of the book, and then resolving it neatly towards the end of the book. I found the whole story with Jason throughout this book very distracting.
The parts with Eric, however, were lovely. the beginning was a bit annoying to me. I liked Eric the way he was, and didn't need him to be changed. Not sure how I feel about the introduction of witches and magic to the story either. I'd rather stick with "plain ...more

I can't quite work out why this book reminded me of Kathy Reichs, but it does. I don't like Sookie as much as Mercy Thompson or Toby Daye, but I moved straight on to the next one...
