Gosh I really enjoyed this book. The perspective was amazing and the details from the story teller's perspective made it so thoroughly believable and fascinating. I feel a bit like a hypocrite when I say this, but there are quite a few "F bombs" in this book and they didn't bother me nearly as badly as those words do when they're tossed into a chick lit type book gratuitously. Because of the way the story is told, having those words included felt a bit like when you've got a child who comes and

This one has been on my to-read list for a while. It’s a very sweet story. It’s also very funny because it is like a reverse murder mystery.
Christopher Boone is autistic. One day he finds a dog that has been killed by a pitchfork, a rather gruesome thing. He decides to find out who killed the dog and to write a murder mystery about it. Using his skills and resources he sets out for answers, but his questions ends up revealing more than what he was prepared for, setting off a harrowing search fo ...more

I’m not sure that any rereading of this book will compare with the magic of reading it for the first time. I am always looking out for unusual, but readable fiction and this fits the bill perfectly. While the math in the book puts me over the edge, the universal appeal of conquering the proverbial mountain is app

A really interesting murder mystery about a neighbor's dog, told from the perspective of a child with autism. Definitely worth reading, but the writing style gave me a headache within the last two or three chapters: Too many short sentences starting with "And", but it's a fascinating mystery story, with just enough twists to make it very interesting. As a mystery, it's neat. As a dive into the world of autism, it's enlightening. As a piece of literature…eh.

A well-written book, though the math is a little tiring. Necessary for the character, tho, I suppose. Also, after a while, the point of view is a bit hard to weather, the character being autistic. Had to put it down and come back to it again after a few days. Would recommend to anyone who knows someone with autism, or would be interested in understanding autism a little better.

Another book that I wanted so much to enjoy but....just didn't. The beginning of the book was great, but towards the middle the entire story seemed to just plateau. Although, Haddon does deserve recognition for writing from an autistic boy's POV - that was very well done.
