Ok that was a fun read. The whodunnit part wasn’t exactly a mystery but still it was a rollicking good time.

Cute! Yes, I definitely get the Doctor Who-Sherlock mashup vibe that Maricel and Selah have mentioned! Loved Jenny and Douglas the duck! The identity of the villain was a bit predictable, but not his/her origins, so that's okay.

Weird side note: I went to college at UofO in Eugene, OR. While I was reading Jackaby, the name Hatun was niggling me for some reason, and then when we meet her character for the first time, I realized why: she is based on a real person, an older homeless woman that is s ...more

Quirky mystery that felt very much like Sherlock Holmes with a supernatural twist. Even though the mystery itself was pretty weak, I loved the charming characters and the world they inhabited. I'm excited to read the next one. ...more
