What Members Thought
Subtle. So subtle, in fact, that you won't realize anything happened until after you finish reading the book. Stevens the butler reflects on the meaning of dignity and what it takes to be a "great butler." I thought there would be more about his relationship with his ailing father, or more about Lord Darlington's demise, but in the end it was just about Stevens' code of ethics and all the things that he missed in life because of it.
