I didn't really like this book. My sister read it and absolutely loved it. She insisted that I had to read it. So I did. But I really had a hard time getting through it. The life of the main character is so grim, and the suffering is so comprehensive and thoroughly described, that even the happiest of endings wouldn't be enough to balance it out. and even the ending wasn't super happy (don't worry; that's all I'll give away, and it IS my opinion, as opposed to fact.)
