What Members Thought
I thought Krakauer's deduction of McCandless was thoughtful and insightful. The author's comparison of his own folly up Devil Thumb helped give weight to how Chris might have been thinking when he went up to Alaska. It was a terrible tragedy but a provoking and exciting read.

2015 READING CHALLENGE: A book based on a true story
I came away from reading this asking myself, "What if?" What if Chris McCandless had survived his Alaska adventure? Would he continue his vagabond lifestyle? Would he ever reconcile with his family? Would he ever allow himself to form close bonds with other people? But we'll never know.
