This book was okay. I listened to it rather than reading it, but I felt like this enhanced the fairy tale in a fairy tale thing it had going on. The first few chapters intrigued me as David, the young protagonist, tries to cope with his mother's death while also coming to terms with his Father's new marriage to Rose, and the birth of his half brother, Georgie. This was an odd book, it's written for adults, but about a 12-year-old and all that angst that comes with childhood. While certainly books have been written about children, the moral was one for childhood. Can't say I loved it, but didn't hate it, would probably give it 2.5 stars.

I listened to this via my library's downloadable library - I loved the guy's accent, esp. when he did the Snow White voice. The story was a little formulaic, as all fairy tales are, but I really enjoyed it. It was a great break from my usual chick-lit type stuff.
