Really enjoyed this one. Listened to the audiobook read by Rachel McAdams.
Anne of Green Gables is the story that comes to mind when I think about the books I read alone as a child.
There are very few in the readers world that are unfamiliar with this story. The movies made were fantastic and Megan Follows the perfect choice to play Anne with an E, but nothing can compare to the original story.

I adore this series, read it over and over again when I was younger. Bought the set awhile ago because I was feeling nostalgic and am finally getting to read it. Great story!
This book only improves with age.
I may not have wept as copiously as I did when I was 11, but Anne is no less treasured now than when I identified with her as my own kindred spirit. I think everyone should read this book, boys and girls, men and women alike. It is a treasure.
I did notice things upon this re-read- the moralism was a bit more stark, for example. But it's a testament to the work that I never found it preachy, as a child or now.
