A great summer read. Fun, quirky characters. This is like a sitcom within a sitcom if that makes any sense. The humor is quick and witty both in the story of Barbara (aka Sophie Straw) and in her roll as Barbara on the BBC television series. She is a young woman from a small town in 1960's England who has the dream to move to London and make it big as a comedic actor like her idol Lucille Ball.
