I'm not sure how to rate this, as I thought the story was okay but most of the characters were not likeable. Several of the characters seemed to either die or have freak accidents. Some scenes (and characters!) seemed to be unnecessary. It's a depressing read.
I went back and forth on whether I liked Justine or not. She was not at all nice when she was a kid. I admit she did some growing and became more interesting when she was an adult.

Oh my goodness! What an emotional roller coaster! When he died, I cried, I bawled my eyes out. It was so unfair! So f-ing unfair! I was thinking that if this is someone's experience of God, I can understand that they become atheists, because one cannot live with a God like that! And somehow, after all that, Colleen managed to make it OK!

I really enjoyed this book (I did the audiobook and loved the reader's voice as well) - just a great story and intriguing characters and storyline. There were a few holes in character development at the end (probably when she realized how long the book was or something) but overall very enjoyable! I was sad that it ended and wanted the story to go on and on!

Completely engrossing and an absolutely wonderful reading experience. One I will never forget.
