I've been long aware of the movie interpretation of this book, and that the lead actress was acclaimed for her portrayal of the author in this autobiographical work, but admittedly have not seen the film. After reading the book, I would be interested in seeing it, as Kaysen provides an unusual first-hand account of what it was like to be involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward as a teenager.
