At the outset, I think it's fair to say that how funny you will find this will depend on how familiar you are with the stories that Ortberg is playing with here. A passing familiarity will do, even if you haven't read the book yet. I never made it through Wuthering Heights, but I know enough of the story to find the texts hilarious. The premise is that famous literary characters are sending text messages to each other. I didn't find any of them haha funny but there is a humor to some of them. I didn't give it a rating because it's not a book you can rate.
