My new favorite thing is to listen to audiobooks that are read by the author. I would recommend this audiobook. I like Alan C. but I am not a huge fan and I didn't know anything about him. I loved listening to this story about his relationship with his father and his discovery of his family history.

Interesting. How people overcome such trauma is always inspiring. But memoirs really are hard to knock out of the park, at least ones by famous people, in my opinion. So worth a read, but no literary gem here.
This was really good. I've enjoyed watching Alan Cumming on TV, and in this book you really get to know how he thinks and feels. His story has so many ups and downs, and yet he still really seems like someone I would love to know. He seems very real and approachable.

Not the typical celebrity bio; instead this book is focused on two major events in Cumming's life -- his childhood abuse and his search for the truth of his grandfather's life. It is well-written and engaging along with being touching and terrifying.
