I love scary movies and I love scary books. I watched this movie when I was in middle school. I made my friend stay on the phone with me the whole time because I was scared and he watched it with me. My parents weren't home, so I was being a wimp. A few years later I saw the book on my grandma's bookshelf, and I started reading it and got so scared that I had to go sleep with my parents!

This well-written and absorbing account of the Manson murders goes into great detail regarding the "farm" out in the California desert and each of the people involved in the crime, be they victims or participants. This is not a pleasant read, but it is very interesting. It's got a real hippie feel to it.

I expected to loathe all 519 pages of this book. Guess what? It's goddam RIVETING.
