WOW! I needed a page-turner and I got one. I loved the structure - not only did Mr. Doerr cut back and forth between Marie-Laure and Werner's stories, there were occasional shifts in time that added to the suspense as well. My only complaint is that I could have done without the very last four pages.

I loved how this novel moved back and forth in time and how it focused on different characters in alternating chapters. It left you wondering how their lives were going to eventually intersect, which is one reason why I couldn't put this book down.
