I found a copy of this in my classroom, and because I'd enjoyed the movie, I was drawn to read it (the rare time I saw the movie first!). It is a sad, poignant, honest teenage story of Charlie, who is grappling with his best friend's suicide. The format, in letters to an unknown reader, makes it easy to read in that it can be digested in small chunks, although Charlie's experiences are not easy to read about. This was on a list that a few authors mentioned as one of their favorite books so I added it to my list. I really enjoyed this and feel like it has lessons for everyone.
