One night a young orphan named Sophie looks outside and sees a giant! Realizing he has been spotted, the giant kidnapes Sophie and brings her to his home. There he explains to her that he is actually a friendly giant, blowing dreams into the minds of children while the other giants spend their nights feasting. As Sophie gets to know the giant she dubs him the Big Friendly Giant (BFG) and together they devise a plan to stop the other giants from eating one more human being.
