Probably the first book I've read because it was strongly NOT recommended reading, and I have to agree with my cousin that it's not all it's hyped up to be. She was assigned it as part of her high school curriculum and kept saying 'they walk, and then they walk some more, but nothing actually happens,' but since it was relatively recently written I figured I'd give it a try in an attempt to determine what makes it so well-regarded and assigned for students to read. This book didn't sound interesting when I read about it but it didn't take long for me to be totally engrossed. I love the fact that you never really know what happened but you are totally involved in the lives of these 2 people and the love they have for each other. McCarthy's prose are beautiful and thought provoking.

It is good, but not enjoyable. It is worth reading, but so bleak.
Amazing book. Grim and tender. Unforgettable.
