Quick thoughts:
- an interesting take on the story of Penelope & her 12 maids from the Odyssey
- the story is told by Penelope in the afterlife (Hades) centuries after her death. Not sure how I felt about this. It allowed for a modern tone & colloquialisms, but it still felt out of place.
- Odysseus is a charming ass, but we already knew that.
- I did not know that Penelope & Helen of Troy were cousins.
- a very quick read with lots of diverse commentary on the injustice of their deaths by the 12 ...more

Not my favorite of her books. I didn't feel any kind of connection to the characters.
