This is very well-written, but I'm finding it so depressing that I'm not sure I'll be able to get through it...

** After reading about 170 pages, I think I'm going to stop reading for a while -- Strout writes very well and I think that her observations on life are fairly accurate, but the book is too depressing for me to keep reading it right now. ...more
