Dawn gave me this book in the stack of classics with which she sent me off to Egypt in 2004. I finally read it, and it is indeed a classic. I slogged through the introduction, and when I asked my dad about it, he said, "No author would include something like that in a novel anymore." I could've skipped it, I guess, but little did I know.
