Powerful, meaningful, purposeful, and respectful. This book makes the all-too-vague “monster” (author’s word) of gang violence seem tangible, personal, and—maybe, just maybe—solvable. Does this book provide pat answers we can implement at the policy level? No. But it can help inform such matters through deeply entrenched, on-the-ground, front-lines reporting of real people and real situations.
