I read this to satisfy a reading challenge task (Read a book originally written in another language). I chose it because I realized I'd never read it in English! I read it in my college French lit class and absolutely fell in love with the story and the life lessons generously sprinkled throughout. I remember my French teacher crying as she read this us. She cried every year. It's a beautiful and lonely story. Maybe perfect for pandemic times.
