What Members Thought
For now, it is abandoned. I've never read Rushdie before and wanted to read this one purely for the shock value & historical significance. I wasn't shocked and the story (as far as I could comprehend it) wasn't all that interesting. The writing style was beautiful & playful and some scenes were comical. Maybe magical realism isn't my thing? Maybe I was just confused? Maybe I just wanted him to get to the point. Maybe someone should explain this one to me...

Great at the beginning and decent at the end, but I think the huge middle actually drags a bit.
