Down to its name, this book is a quirky and sensitive portrayal of the author's childhood as a kid with a disability. Bell is deaf, and this graphic memoir (somewhat fictionalized?) is a both fun and moving look at what it was like to be a student and just a kid in general with a disability in an environment in which there were generally no other deaf kids. What a lovely story! This would be a great read for anyone loves "Wonder" or "Sisters" or "Smiles." The story of our author - who after a bout of meningitis at age 4, becomes mostly deaf. The pictures are charming and her story is uplifting. I loved it.

Really nice graphic novel about a girl growing up with greatly reduced hearing and a very noticeable hearing aid. In an afterward the author says she wanted to make the reader understand her emotions at the time, and the book 100% succeeds at that.
