DNF, sadly. I went about 30 pages further than my usual self-inflicted cut-off (49 pages) because I kept holding out hope that I'd start "getting" this book. Nope!!!!

Strange, beautiful, confusing, gripping, frustrating, haunting, unusual, ethereal, maddening -- all of these are words I could use to describe this novel. It was a quick read because I wanted to see what would happen next and I found the writing style captivating. I haven't seen the movie, but I'm interested to see how it will translate to film. Worth reading.
