The first of the 4 long books in the series, it held my interest throughout, building the suspense until the very last chapter. Rowling definitely knows how to write a good mystery, leaving clues throughout the book for each of the various subplots, clues that seem obvious once the secret is revealed but subtle enough to not be realized during the course of the book.

Another good installment in this series! For me, it's always interesting, having read these books after viewing the movies, to see how they have been edited down. While the books are good, I admit to being impressed with the movie versions. The screenwriters have done an incredible job condensing while keeping the essential parts of the story and editing out bits the books could easily have done without (such as the Poltergeist, Peeves).

A slightly different slant on the school year with the triwizard tournament.
Re-rated from 4 stars to 5 after 2nd reading. Have to admire how the author drip feeds the reader with subtle info which will come in handy later.
