After reading the interview with Lauren Beukes at the end of the book, I really appreciate that she was trying to make a statement with this book that when people die they aren't just "pretty corpses." They have lives and people that will miss them. Unfortunately I didn't get her full intent while reading the book.

I read 1/3 of this and it just wasn't holding my attention at all so I stopped.

I enjoyed this book so much. It reminds me with Time Traveler's Wife, with the time travel and all, but with the thriller/mystery tone. Time traveler slash serial killer is a perfect villain because it's simply impossible to catch him- except for Kirby, the living victim. The story revolved around Chicago area, from time to time, with hints of historical events here and there. Great ending too, although it's a bit Stephen King-ish :)
