Delilah is a shy bookworm who prefers to spend her time reading than doing just about anything else. Although her mother feels she is too old for fairy tales, Delilah becomes obsessed with a book she discovers hidden at her school library. The book is called "Between the Lines," and the main character is Prince Oliver. This book had a really great premise. Honestly, though, it was poor execution. I thought the number of methods the couple tried to get the prince out of the book was overkill, although I understood how important it was to the authors to cover all the bases. All the same, with less pages, the action (and emotion and suspense) would have been compacted - maybe a short story or novella would have been a better choice.
I liked this story okay. I thought it was super creative. It's more middle school level and has a lot of fairy tale elements.
