I somehow never read this when I was a kid. Too busy reading all the babysitter club books apparently. I listened to the audio of this, and though (as a parent) I was terrified for the children camping out in the Metropolitan museum of art, it was such a sweet and lovely story! Highly recommend the audio.
This is one of the best kids’ books ever written. It’s funny and heartwarming and emotionally honest. And the narrator is so perfectly acerbic.
