Wonderful, charming story about people who live books and how books have affected their lives. The characters felt real to me and easy to relate, the book references are very very nice, and even though the plot itself is a bit too dramatic and fairy tale-ish, I still feel it is heartwarming. Ohhh and the setting of an independent bookstore in an island off massachusets- charming!

This book was totally fine. There are interesting characters, engrossing details and I was able to quickly read this in one enjoyable sitting. But with that said, I think that this will be entirely forgettable.

A.J. Fikry would not have liked this book for it's overt sentimemtality and trite conventions. I didn't mind them so much, but the story was just ok. The best character was the bookstore itself. 3.5 stars really. This book is an ode to readers & their books. The characters are interesting, diverse and quite dysfunctional on many levels. The pacing was choppy. Things just happen from one page to another, with no transition. It was awkward and a bit annoying, but worked well enough to cover a span of 18 years in 258 pages.
