✅ Things I liked:
* The narrator of the audiobook.
* The cop was probably my favorite character.
* I admired AJ for adopting a young girl, especially since he was still grieving the loss of his wife.
* I enjoyed the overall story and how it played out, but I didn’t *love* most of the characters.
📖 There’s a part about a book he owns that goes missing, but that wasn’t the focal point of the story like the book summary made it out to be. It certainly plays a part, but most of the story ...more

Perfectly nice book about a bookseller living on a island off the coast of Massachusetts. His wife dies and a baby ends up in his shop once day, abandoned. I was worried this would become a "baby solves everything" book but it isn't. I can't stand those books where parenthood is the solution to one's happiness - like "my life was incomplete until this special snowflake saved me." The story was nice and gentle. AJ, our bookseller, lives a content life. I was surprised and saddened by then ending
