4.5, I think. There were some political sections that slowed it way down for me, and I wanted to slap Anna.
I have tried for years to read this book, but my book club chose it--which gave me the final push! I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did or for it to be as spiritual as it was. I think Levin might be my favorite literary character now. I am just in awe that Tolstoy can write women and childbirth so well. I got chills from the final paragraph! Took me twice as long as it should have, seeing as I was hardly home the last three weekends, but I finally finished, and am glad I decided to tackle this one. Excellent novel, though I advise the more sensitive/emotional readers keep tissue on hand for part seven. Lots of thoughts on this one, but I don't want to give away any spoilers, and some of the thoughts aren't all that concrete yet. Highly recommend! ...more
