This one has some laugh out loud lines as I've come to expect from Jasper Fforde's books. A little different from the Tuesday Next and Nursery Crimes series, this one is set in a world where color rules the land. Each inhabitant is assigned a color (red, yellow, green, blue, purple, grey, etc.) and must live according to the Rules. I adored this new series by Jasper Fforde. The reader for the audiobook did a superb job bringing the wit to life. I wish the sequels were out because I immediately wanted more of the color-driven world created from the ever creative mind of Fforde. This series shows more promise than the nursery crimes series and seemed to rely less on cuteness than the Thursday Next series. Highly recommended.

I had looked forward to this book as I really enjoyed Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series, but I really struggled to get into this book. The concept is about a caste society made up by the colors you are able to see. It was an interesting concept, and there were parts I enjoyed, but it may have been one that was just too complex for me to follow while listening on audio.

I really enjoyed this and can't wait for the sequel. Still puzzled about what happened on page 361, though. Was Eddie four days in the yateveo tree or did Jane rescue him the same day?
