I have to be honest. I really hated this book, which surprised me because it came so highly recommended by several people I respect. Sorry guys, this yarn was completely unappealing to me. However, I did finish it. : ) Bully for me.
Not sure what to say about this book. It look me a long time to really get into the story and even when I felt like I did, it still was an uncomfortable fit. I have heard the next in the series was "even better" so I may give it a whirl.

I couldn't get in the spirit of the "literary slapstick" style as one incisive friend put it. Oh well, you might like this if you're a Bronte and/or Dickens fan and do OK with "look how clever I'm being!" humor.

This was an interesting book. It took me awhile to get the surreal concept of time travel and inter-litterature travel. But it was silly, and inteligent enough to work!
I made it a little over half way before deciding it just wasn’t worth it.
